How It Works

Content Development

1. Brainstorming

Whether you already have an idea, or need help coming up with a topic, Earmark can help. We'll start by meeting for 30-60 minutes to determine the topic of your sponsored episode.

Not sure if your topic qualifies for CPE credit? A good rule of thumb is, if your topic will improve the professional competency of accountants and/or help them provide quality professional services, it will qualify.

The topic can be broad and high-level or narrow and "in the weeds." There's room for all types of content on Earmark. Generally, "how to" content tends to do well because accountants are busy people and want to get actionable insights from CPE courses.

2. Outlining

Once we've got a topic picked out, we'll schedule a second meeting to work through a high-level outline of the material we'll discuss in the episode. The outline can be as simple as a handful of bullet points, or as detailed as a full page.

3. Recording

For our third meeting, we'll block off about 90 minutes to record the episode. (It shouldn't take more than an hour, but in case of technical difficulties, I like to have some buffer.)

I record the episode on Zencastr. You can check out the guest instructions here.
